Disco is one of those genres that produces a lot more one-hit bands than bands with consistently good output. There are a few notable exceptions, but in general, I’ve found myself that disco compilation albums are much better purchases than full records by a single band.

I discovered this song on one such compilation CD (Pure Disco), and it really stood out to me. This was my first introduction to The Gap Band, and I instantly wanted to hear more.

That was probably five or six years ago, and I still haven’t gotten around to looking up their other music. I guess we didn’t have YouTube in those days, though, but now that YouTube is here, I can find any song ever recorded in less time than it takes me to write about how easy it is for me to find everything ever recorded.

How strange it is to live in the future!
