Let’s Go Crazy
Janelle Monáe
Originally by Prince
Live at the 2010 BET Awards

We are living in exciting times, funk fans.
Of Montreal announced tour dates today, and it’s been revealed that none other than Janelle Monáe will be accompanying the modern kings of funk. Janelle Monáe, whose latest hit is built around direct homage to James Brown. Janelle Monáe, who covered Prince at last week’s BET Awards.
If you stop seeing updates on this site in late October, it will have been because I drowned in funk at this show.
Speaking of Prince, the Artist-with-the-Formerly-Goofy-Name-Who-Later-Changed-His-Name-Back-to-Something-That’s-Still-Goofy-but-At-Least-It’s-Pronounceable will be releasing his thirty-third (!) album, 20Ten, this weekend. It will be given away exclusively with some newspaper in the UK, because Prince is a weirdo, but the good kind of weirdo. The kind of weirdo who is responsible for some of the best music of all time, and the kind of weirdo who gives away CDs in newspapers.
By the way, if any of you cats are in the UK and you don’t want your copy, I know a certain someone who loves a bunch of genres…
